Personality: Kotaro is more a loner in his town.Although he wants to be a trainer he never wants to see anyone get hurt. When he see's a pokemon or human get hurt he decides to share the pain. He would rather block the hit of pokemon to save his pokemon from fainting. Kotaro is distant but if you get to know him he is a nice guy.
History: Kotaro grew up in Lavender Town and had a how you say "different" child hood. He grew fond of pokemon while he was in trainer school and he kept growing to like them. He made friends with a Elekid that rested near the school. They played tag and slept underneath the trees. Until one day Elekid got into a battle and was trapped into a cage. Pokemon hunters were capturing Elekid and Kotaro watched in despair as Elekid was dragged away in it's cage crying and reaching out to Kotaro. He was 4 then,but as he grew up he grew more distant from his parents and stopped liking pokemon battles. He listened to music all the time to calm down the memories of that day. He felt as if he was to blame and stayed away from everyone. Kotaro when actually going outside left food that he saved for the Elekid and fed the other wild pokemon. 10 years passed and Kotaro went out for his daily feedings. He put the bowl down and saw as a injured baby Elekid walked out of the grass and collapsed in front of the bowl. Kotaro screamed and all the imaged came running back. Kotaro stopped for a second and thought "...This...this is my chance...Elekid has shown me what I should do." Kotaro looked down at the Elekid and realized....It had a Mark on its arm that the one he saw 10 years ago had. Kotaro rushed to the nearest pokemon center and when the Elekid was awakened they began to play together. For a whole year they played and trained until he was 15 and he knew it was time to set out. He smiled as the Elekid he had hopped on his shoulder and they took off to start their journey to not only become world champion of the Kanto league but also to find the hunters responsible and stop them for good.
