Petalburg, Here We Are!

"Looks like we made it," Lily said, taking in the sight of the city. She then turned back towards the twins. "Are you guys going to challenge the gym right away? I think I'll train beforehand, but I really want to see you guys fight! I could always train after your fight..." She waited for a response.

Carla looked to Lionel "Should we I mean it's not the first gym but... it would save us time" Lionel nodded "Yeah lets go do it" he replied grinning as he walked over to the nearby Gym Doors saying to Carla "Sis if you don't mind i'll go first" Carla nodding and replying "Sure i'll go wait in the stands with Lily" Carla moving to the stands and sitting down in the middle row to get a good view.

Lionel then called out "Hey Gym Leader You In Here?!" awaiting the gym leader to appear so he could battle calling out his Sandslash who stood next to him Lionel then told him "Wait here Sandslash and watch so you can analyse their battle style got it" Sandslash gave him the thumbs up to show he understood replying "Slash... Sandslash... Sand" smiling. Lionel raised a light grin to his partner and best friend which was a rare sight but he then turned serious once more moving his view to the battlefield and calling his Rhyperior forth to the battle "Go on Rhyperior when this guy gets out here your gonna be the first one to lay the beat down on his pokemon ok" Rhyperior grinning a menacing grin awaiting his battle. Lionel knew this face and awaited his opponent determined as ever.

Lily sits in the stands, eager to see the battle. Striker, Wavecrasher, and Nightwhisper were all sitting around her, watching intently. "This will really help us see how experienced trainers fight," she told them, awaiting the arrival of the gym leader with excitement.

Gym leader Norman heard someone is in the gym, so he stood up and went to the battle hall. He saw his opponent "Welcome to the Petalburg gym. I'm Norman the gym leader. Are you ready for your skills to be tested?" asked he while spinning his pokeball.

Lionel replied to him with a grin "Sure are you?" Rhyperior stomping and awaiting it's opponent, Lionel saying "So three on three battle, right?" having planned out his strategy already.

Carla smiling at his enthusiasm and awaiting her battle at the side looking to Lily she said "well I'd gear up if I were you my brother can sure pack a punch in a battle" looking back to the field she waited for it to all kick off.

"You bet it is. Go Spinda!" said Norman and released spinda from his pokeball. "We are ready when you are." added Norman.

Lionel grinned once more "Ready!" he called "Now Rhyperior Use Hammer Arm!" Rhyperior running forwards and raising it's arm before bringing it down on Spinda's head.

Spinda managed to avoid the direct hit, but it still was effectively. Spinda was laying on the ground and while he was trying to get up Norman said "Use Psybeam!".
Spinda used psybeam on Rhyperior aiming perfectly.

Rhyperior was hit but laughed brushing it off, Lionel laughed too "Nice one now use Stone Edge" Rhyperior becoming surrounded by stones which circled him before firing them all off towards Spinda full power.

Spinda saw the stones hurtle toward it, and managed to jump out of the way in time, diving to the ground. Spinda seemed dazed by the impact it had with the ground, but other than that, recovered quickly. Baring its teeth, it let out a mighty burst of sound, using Uproar!

Lionel had figured that the gym leader would try something like that so he quickly called over "Ok Now Rhyperior Use Drill Run!" Rhyperior grinned menacingly at the feeble vocal attempt before leaping high into the air and rotating his body with speed until he was spinning at break neck speeds coming crashing in for an attack on the Spinda.

Spinda looked at the giant rock creature hurling toward him with obvious fear, and he seemed locked in place. Rhyperior's attack hit dead on, and Spinda seemed to fly through the air just from the impact, then hit the ground hard. He tried weakly to get up, but he fell back to the ground again, defeated.

Norman's face was expressionless as he returned his Spinda, then he threw a new spoke all into the air, releasing a Slaking, who looked at Rhyperior with a tired expression.

Lionel grinned at the fallen Spinda and watched as a large lumbering figure appeared. Rhyperior landed after the attack and looked to the Slaking his body language showing no fear, and no mercy for the Lazy Pokemon. Lionel signaled to Rhyperior and calmly commanded the attack "Now Go Rhyperior use Stone Edge GO!" Rhyperior grinned again raising both arms as the hard jagged stones began surrounding him moving in a gyroscopic motion before Rhyperior commanded them forwards sending them flying forth with speed, power, precision and deadly force, Rhyperior showing off his no mercy approach to battling.

Slaking brought his arms up to cover his head, and he took the attack, seemingly unmoved but damaged from it. Tiredly, he let out a huge yawn, in hopes that Rhyperior would catch it and become tired as well.

Rhyperior however managed to avoid the effect's of the Yawn attack as, Lionel called over "Right let's finish this Hammer Arm Now!" Rhyperior running forth and drawing back his fist what began to glow white eventually reaching Slaking's location and thrusting the large fist forwards aiming to hit Slaking on the chin with a powerful uppercut.

Lionel seemed to underestimate the sheer strength of Slaking, because even as the attack hit, the tough Pokemon was able to recover rather well, but still looked weaker than he was before. Instead of retaliating when Rhyperior was in range, he simply, and lazily, stared at the rocky foe.

Lionel then thought of something although the moves were appearing not to phase it they may be damaging it so, he figured he'd go with a move that would do the most damage calling across to Rhyperior "Hammer Arm Again!" Rhyperior's arm glowing bright white once more as, he launched it at Slaking's chin again for a second powerful uppercut in an attempt to take it down there and then.

Slaking continued to look boredly as Rhyperior charged at him. The Hammer Arm made contact and forced the enormous Pokemon to slam into the ground. Dazidly getting up, he roared in anger and released a full power Facade at his foe.

Lionel grinned knowing exactly how to handle this calling to Rhyperior "Now Stone Run!" this being a newly perfected technique, Rhyperior launching himself high into the air and spinning with great speed forming his drill like form, Stones then appearing once more, circling him in a gyroscopic motion, they then began firing rapidly at Slaking to block the Facade and hopefully do some major damage. Rhyperior looking like a Spitfire from World War 2, progressing through the air with speed the stones like the Spitfire's machine guns, hoping to take Slaking down with this technique.
