An electric sensation

Twilight couldn't stop running until she sighted Vermilion city. Finally grinding to a halt, she skidded a bit on the grass and promptly fell down. "Oww..." She whined. "I wonder why it's called Vermilion city...is it because the Gym leader uses Electric types?" Her Eevee shrugged as best as Eevee could shrug.

"Might have to train a bit before that..." She grumbled, and got to her feet. Wandering around looking for an encounter, she finally saw a ______.

(Again, it can be a trainer or wild pokemon.)

A Koffing is hovering under the shade of a tree just a few steps away from Twilight and her Eevee. He has a smile on his face. Well alright, all Koffings are usually smiling. Go blame Arceus. What, they on drugs or something? Nah. This one's smiling because Twilight tripped. He's like a kid. He seems friendly.

Twilight seemed offended. "Nothing to smile about..." She muttered. Then suddenly burst out laughing. Koffing were always smiling. She got up, brushing grass off her skirt. "Hey there." She moved closer.

The Koffing didn't move, just kept staring at him. He smiled even more and seems to be okay with her around. He's giving Twilight a "what's up?" look.

Fortunately, having grown up around pokemon, she understood the look. She reached out a hand to try and pet it.

The Koffing ate her hand because Koffings are sick suckos.

Koffing gave a delighted expression. He seems to like Twilight. Well alright, not "like" as in in love. "Like" as in, wants to be with her. Er, the trainer-Pokemon relationship it means. And the Koffing confirms it by looking at a Poke Ball attached to her waist.

Unfortunately Twilight wasn't following his gaze. She was too fascinated. Her parents never had a Koffing, so petting one was all but a new experience to her.

Koffing told Twilight that he is rarely petted by humans. When people see him, mostly Trainers, they come to him just to fight him. Koffing said he's had some tough fights, lost and won some. Koffing said he has found kindness in Twilight and he'd like to offer his strength if Twilight would let him.

Twilight cocked her head. "Sorry. I don't speak pokemon." She shrugged, hearing nothing more than a lot of "Koff, koffing!'s. Akina scampered up to her shoulder and nipped her ear. "Ow! What do you want?" She asked, withdrawing her hand. With a brush of her tail on Twilight's cheek, she pointed with the pokeballs with a paw. "Oh." She breathed sheepishly.

Koffing smiled upon realizing that his long speech wasn't understood at all. Koffing's eyes looked down on the Poké Ball and back at Twilight. He confirmed Eevee's translation with a nod.

Twilight giggled, still sheepishly, and strangely appeasingly, before unhooking a pokeball from her belt and holding it out to Koffing.

The Poison Gas Pokémon's vacant eyes turned to the Poké Ball Twilight is holding out to him with her hand. The spherical Pokémon's delighted facial expression remained the same for a few seconds before it transitioned into a mean one. Koffing still has the smile on his face, only that this time, one can tell it's a mean smile. Koffing would knock the Poké Ball away from Twilight's hand and release a thick, dark green smoke from its mouth. This deceptive creature would use Smog.

Twilight scrambled back, pupils dilated. That little transformation was just too queer and sudden for her to register the betrayal just yet. Cornered against a tree, she wordlessly sent out Aquarius, who eyed the Koffing for a couple of seconds and the Smog it was releasing, before shooting a straight jet of water at it. Water Gun. Meanwhile, staying out of range of the smoke, the Wooper circled around.

Unfortunately, Koffing was able to move away. The beam of water hit the tree behind where Koffing used to be. When Aquarius circled around, Koffing was unable to pick up the sound due to the sound of the water splashing against the tree. When the smoke cleared out, Koffing saw Twilight backing away but where the creature who shot the Water Gun is not anywhere in his sights. He figured humans couldn't do any attacks like that. Unless Twilight magically had a water gun with her. But then again, a water gun compared to a Water Gun attack are two very different things.

Koffing realized that either the attacker is behind him, or somewhere else. He turned around and saw a Wooper. "It's a Water-type and the way it's looking at me. Must be the attacker," Koffing figured. Koffing would quickly bash Aquarius the Wooper with his entire spherical body before Wooper could dish out any attack.

Aquarius did not see that coming. The smoke was thick enough as it was. It let out a cry as the full-bodied tackle bit into it's health. A determined look flashed over it's face as it released another Water Gun.

Twilight tilted her head a bit. Aquarius wasn't usually like this. Normally he was all bouncy and forever dancing around for no reason. His brow wasn't even furrowed like this. Shaking off the feeling, she finally took charge. "All right! Water Gun!" The Wooper didn't need it. Obviously oblivious of the tree, it bounded forward and shot another stream of water at the offending opponent.

Koffing has been hit again and the waters ricochet at the ground. Koffing realized that the strength of the Water Gun he's been receiving is weaker than he expects. Which only means that he's some levels stronger than the Wooper that's in front of him. Which means that he should be good with repeatedly using Tackle.

This time the Wooper bounded away, saving itself a Tackle. Bouncing around evasively, it contemplated it's situation for a moment before using another Water Gun.

Koffing's Tackle kept going when Wooper jumped away. His eyes grew wide when he saw the big oak tree that he's about to crash against. Koffing smashed against the tree before the Water Gun pushed him away. Koffing couldn't whip out a move, his head is still hurting from the tree collision followed by the force of the water. He's wobbling in the air.

Twilight narrowed her eyes. Before she could say anything, the Wooper bounded close and shot another Water Gun.

The water splashed on Koffing as he spun in 360-degrees, swiftly floating away like a balloon. Koffing soon somehow slightly regained his balance. Koffing figured he had to use something strong. He underestimated Aquarius. Koffing kept his position but spewed dark brown sludge at Aquarius from its mouth. He's hoping that the sludge would still hit even with their distance.

Aquarius' eyes widened. Poisonous sludge that would corrode itself if it touched him. No thanks. Prancing away on nimble legs, Aquarius managed to dodge the Sludge. Unfortunately, it stumbled upon a stone and lost it's balance. Teetering over, it crashed to the ground, momentarily exposing itself for any attacks.

Despite the Sludge missing, Koffing still considered the attack a win. He giggled at Aquarius' helpless position. He's gained his focus back and he quickly hovered right on top of Aquarius and would land on top of Aquarius with a tackle. 2.2 lbs. slamming down.

Twilight giggled. 1 kg of Koffing slamming down on the Wooper. Not much. Still, it inflicted some damage and Aquarius wriggled to it's feet, and tried to kick away the Koffing with Double Kick.
