A night in the woods.

It was dark outside, not that it mattered anyways, the thick canopy of trees overhead would have cast shadows upon the entire forest floor. Even in the day there were only a few spots in Viridian forest where light peeked in. It was an especially cold night out tonight, but Broel didn't mind, he had charmander by his side, sleeping curled at his belly to keep him warm. Him and his charmander Blaze had been together for nine years now, just surviving, and training, trying to get stronger. He had found Blaze in a hunters bear trap one night in the woods, drenched and almost dying, his tail fire only dimly lit. Broel loosened the trap and saved him, and since that day they'd been the best of friends.

However, there was a slight problem, Broel never actually caught Charmander in a pokeball, so it wasn't registered to him. Charmander just followed Broel around because he liked him. To the authorities however he was a stolen pokemon. Already officers from Viridian city had tried to take Blaze away from him. Twice, and twice they were defeated. It was late now though and Broel wanted to sleep. He layed back, his head resting on his leather jacket ; curled up for a pillow, and he closed his eyes.

Then suddenly he heard a rustle from behind. His eyes snapped open and he stood up. Flinging charmander into the air, who immediately woke up and landed on his feet, then hissed. The bush rustled again, closer this time.

There were various, mysterious eyes staring at Borel through the darkness of Viridian Forest, but only one creature came forward. It was a rather uncommon sight for Viridian Forest, an Abra wandering around. (Abra, lvl 7, Female) It seemed that it was lost, and slightly beaten up as it had various scratches and such. It walked, well, actually staggered, along for a while before resting at the base of a tree nearby it.

Broel approached the Abra calmly and quietly, he valued a pokemons free will more than capturing it. In fact he was considered somewhat of a delinquent in viridian city because his charmander had never been caught in a pokeball or registered to him, so it was believed stolen. He decided that if he was going to catch pokemon it would be through friendship alone.

Broel slowly approached the abra and reached into his side pocket, pulling out a small pouch of pokemon food, then he slowly got to one knee. "Hey there little friend" He whispered under his breath. Broel knew of Abra's habbits of teleporting and didn't expect for it to stay, but he added " You look hurt, I know a place we can go to get you all better. (Speaking of a berry patch near the grove he lived in viridian forest with Blaze.

The Abra looked up at Broel, too tired to be startled by him. When it saw the pouch of Pokemon food, it took it slowly and began to eat. It seemed to trust Broel, at least a little bit. It nodded when Broel proposed that there was a place where it could get healed up.

Broel nodded, and smiled. Then turned to walk into the bushes between two pine trees. Seemingly heading towards the promised grove of berries. Although not before offering his hand to the Abra, noticing it's condition to offer a ride on his shoulders; Broel was weary, as he and his Charmander, Blaze hadn't slept too well the night before. He gripped tightly to his sword handle not afraid to spill blood in defence of Abra or Blaze, if they were attacked by an enemy pokemon or human.

The copse of Berries however was not far and Broel led on, following a crooked, and not too well trodden trail. Bast bushes of regular, non medicinal berries. Availiable for picking as food.

The Abra took Broel up on the offer and watched as they walked along. It looked around and kept watch for things.

Broel leads abra for several minutes through the woods, and eventually to the patch of Oran Berries that grow near his grove. Pecha berries for poison as well. And Raust berries for burns. He paused, and looked about making sure that there were no more pokemon before picking 1 pecha berry for charmander and 3 for abra, and then fed them to them.

"There! All better!" He proclaimed, possibly a little too loudly...

Abra smiled and got to its feet, standing on the ground. It now completely trusted Broel, for better or for worse, and was hoping that he'd be able to help him along whatever quest he was going on. When Broel yelled, instead of attracting a Pokemon, he woke some up. Beedrill. A lot of them. The buzzed, obviously angry at the Trainer.

Broel, drew his blade. Hoping not to have to hurt the bedrills, but just to scare them off, he angled his sword as such to catch a glint of light from the sun, and reflect, to spread shimmers of light throught the forest. He hoped that would be enough to startle the bug pokemon. "Blaze! New Friend... Be ready, for I think they mean us harm"

Broel Screamed as loud as he could in a final attempt to scare off the Beedrill "AAAARGGH!"
Then, he called. Blaze, Blast them with all you got, then Abra, get us out of here. And with that Blaze threw a huge ball of flame from his mouth towards the beedrill (egg move).

The Beedrills responded aggressively, all of them swooping in to attack Broel and his friends now that he had angered them thoroughly. Abra was not about to deal with it and used Teleport, getting all of them away to somewhere in a safe part of the forest.

"Thanks abra, you really saved us back there, You too Blaze" Broel stood thinking for a moment. "And about that, if you're joining up with me I can't go about calling you "abra" all the time, you need a name..." Broel stood pondering for a long moment, thumbing over all of the possible choices in his mind. He wanted something to do with Abra's ability to teleport, as it had just saved them, but he wanted to keep in mind that Abra would eventually become an ALAKAZAM. A very intelligent and powerful beast. And did not want to insult him and make him seem the coward.

"How about..." Broel thought on Abra's ability to use Psychic moves. "Psyactra? "

Abra, ahem, Psyactra nodded and smiled at Broel.

Wild Abra would like to join your team!

Broel Shakes Psyactra's hand. Then Shows her a mental image of his grove, and asks her to teleport there. When they get to the desitnation, Broel lays down with his two Pokemon And goes to sleep.
