Jackson doesn't fight full blast from the get go; nor does he sit back and let the opponent beat on him and try to outlast them. He is a middle of the road. Strategy is the most important aspect of battle, but even strategy cannot save an underleveled pokemon against a much more powerful one. His usual style is to either boost his pokemon at first, or try to soften the opponent up within the first few turns. And then, like an unrelenting hammer, Jackson and his pokemon proceed to lay them out as quick as possible ( without going uber hard mode ; he comes to win, not to scar a pokemon for life ). This strategy is solid mostly, flexible when it needs be, but not utterly flawless. If he loses, he is a graceful loser, and will never try to strike in a cheating fashion.
| Personality |
Jackson Hobbes is a calm, easygoing guy. For him, he just wants to hang out and go on his pokemon adventure. Honest, steady, and kind to pokemon, you only live once and he plans on making the most of it.
He loves life, all life. From the smallest Diglett to the largest Wailord, old and young, human and pokemon, he believes they can all get along and bring peace. Despite this, he isn't a perfect saint; if someone treats him unfairly, or cheats, or harms his pokemon or those he cares about ( read : very protective ), he will stop at nothing to bring them to their knees and make them feel the pain, apology optional.
Unfortunately he's far too fond of puns than should be normal. It's a rather grueling punishment but someone has to dish it out.

Jackson Hobbes, the only son of Rosalyn Hobbes, lived a fairly lonely existance in Undella Town. For most people, it was a place you came during the summer and ignored the rest of the year. Because it was so small, Rosalyn homeschooled him to give him a proper education, instead of sending him to a town far away.
They were not rich, nor poor. Rosalyn was an actress, along with her Zoroark, Kiyomi, and during the summer they often entertained people that visited, while Jackson played with other children. During the off seasons, she often cleaned and maintained people's houses, gardens, etc to keep them in mint condition.
Jackson did his best to help her out, and worked hard to learn the things his mother taught him. Still, without very many friends, his mother had an idea. When he became thirteen years old, his mother gave him a strangely marked egg; one with black and red markings, and that he was to take care of it. Shortly thereafter, it hatched into a beautiful Zorua, the daughter of his mother's own pokemon. He took care of it and bonded rather quickly ( despite Kyouko's occasional wild streak ), so happy to have a companion during the lonely months.
When he became fourteen, his mother purchased for him a set of brand new pokeballs, and he departed, to begin his pokemon journey just as she had before he was born.

Illusion
Illusion will change the appearance of the Pokémon to a different species. This is dependent on the last Pokémon in the player's party, meaning that Illusion will not activate if the last Pokémon in the player's party is unable to battle or is of the same species. Illusion will replicate the type of Poké Ball, species name, Shininess (if any), and gender of the Pokémon it is masquerading as; however, it does not replicate the level of the masqueraded Pokémon. The effect is only aesthetic: it does not affect the Pokémon's stats, typing, moves, etc.
Illusion is broken—causing the user to appear as their true species—when the user is damaged directly by an attack or when changed to Mummy via Mummy. As such, it is not broken by secondary effects such as the HP loss caused by Substitute, Life Orb, weather conditions, status ailments, entry hazards, recoil, etc.
A Pokémon with Illusion can masquerade as another Pokémon with Illusion, provided that they are different species.
Since Zorua can appear as humans but with tails at times, I decided to add this just in case.
