Personality: Marcus is out-going, fun loving and friendly person who will go out of his way for his friends and family. He enjoys waking up early to watch the fields light up. Marcus loves hanging out with friends but hardly gets to do it anymore.
History: Marcus grew up in a family as the youngest child of 6, he was always the one to feed the Pokemon at the family's farm. At the age of 5 Marcus was walking along the banks of the river when it suddenly gave way, he was sweep down stream and was heading for a waterfall. just before he went over the edge something lifted him out of the water, once on land Marcus looked over to see a Togekiss smiling at him. Marcus thanked Togekiss and started to walk back to the house when he felt something following him, he turned around to see Togekiss following him. He asked Togekiss if she would like to help him with his errands which she accepted, after finishing his errands Marcus told Togekiss to wait outside his window once inside his room Marcus opened the window and let Togekiss in.

At the age of 10 Marcus set off on his journey his parents asked him what starter he wanted. Marcus told them he wanted Togekiss he walked to the barn and showed them her and they agreed to let him take her to be his starter. Over the 5 years Marcus was on his journey caught a Ampharos, Gastrodon, Froslass, Roserade and a Lopunny. He also traveled to each gym wanting to train his Pokemon, Marcus had a hard time against Gardenia and Fantina using different moves to suit the battle. During Marcus and Fantina's battle Marcus's Buneary evolved into Lopunny with its newly learned Jump Kick it won the match for Marcus. At the age of 15 Marcus finished his journey and went back home to help his parents with the farm, at the age of 16 his parents and him left to Johto to be closer to family. At the age of 19 he took over his parents farm in Johto has been giving tours and he opened a cafe that his cousins run. Marcus has been dreaming of leaving the farm and battle the gym leaders of Johto.

I'm not really sure if it's fair to start out with items or not...they aren't expensive items, but I don't know.

Also, could you add more to your history explaining the gym badges. You'll have to remove them otherwise, as something like that needs more of an explanation than the fact that he went on a journey.
