A thousand mile journey begins with one step (Mod required)

Twilight wandered in the grass, Akina by her side, growling at every little blade of grass that moved in the wind or a falling leaf. She nipped at a small daisy with her sharp little teeth and tugged. The daisy uprooted with curious suddenness. The gap that the flower left behind revealed a _______.

It was a small Pidgey dozing in the plants. She seemed to still be asleep, and didn't notice Twilight nor Akina.

(level and gender? Oh please let it be a girl...)

Akina bared her small, sharp teeth, standing in a defensive pose. Twilight bent down and picked Akina up. The Pidgey posed no threat until it attacked. And it didn't look strong either. She could use a new team mate. She swiped a pokeball from her belt just as Akina struggled herself free from Twilight's grasp.

Twilight waited for the Pidgey to wake up. If it did, Akina would attack immediately. Plus, it wouldn't be fair to attack a sleeping opponent. Twilight tapped the grass with her foot impatiently.

(Sorry about that. I usually list level and gender once a battle ensues)

The growling of Akina did seem to wake the Pidgey, and she made a tired coo. Not noticing Twilight nor her Pokemon, she seemed to be in a waking daze.

Akina didn't like being ignored. But dignity didn't allow her to attack unless her trainer said so. Maybe a Tackle could wake up the bird. When Twilight did order a tackle, Akina slammed her self lightly against the nesting bird, not enough to hurt out, just ruffle it slightly.

Akina knew that Twilight wanted the Pidgey, so, as much as she disliked out, she battled with a hint of gentleness, as the Pidgey was half her level.

Pidgey stirred waking and standing up looking at Akina carefully blinking twice before taking to air not taking too kindly to being woken as she began to dive in for a tackle attack on Akina wings outstretched screeching "PIDGEY!" as a battle cry.

(Finally! Prayer answered!)

Akina growled at the dive-bombing Pidgey and tried to dodge but got struck by one of the wings. She hopped to her feet, enraged. Without Twilight's command, she spat out a purple gob of muck. Toxic. Should it make contact, it ought to steadily chip away at the bird's health.

Not waiting to see if it struck or not, Akina dashed forward for a Tackle.

Pidgey however focused too much on dodging the toxic that she didn't see Akina go in for the tackle and was struck to the ground bouncing along before climbing back screeching again this time an angry and shrill "PIIII!" before taking back to the air and dashing in for another tackle attack.

"Hmm...It seemed to be too busy to dodge the Tackle attack. That may just work..Akina! Tail whip, Tackle, then Toxic!" Twilight called out. The small brown fox nodded then, turning her back towards the bird, started wagging her tail in a curios manner. Hopefully it should distract the Pidgey enough to make it lower its defenses.

Moves used (If not clear in the post) : Tail whip, Tackle, Toxic (In this particular order)

The agile Pidgey managed to flap her wings to take flight and dodge Tackle. The Toxic hit and Pidgey flinched from the pain. She quickly gained altitude until she was high in the sky. The she came down in a bright red fury. She got faster and faster until the color of her glow became blue. She gained on Akina. She was about to use Brave Bird (Egg Move).

Akina, a bit spooked with the ominous blue glow, tried to dodge, but just as she leaped aside, one of the wings hit her hindleg, causing the restriction of movement of her legs, while her body, due to momentum, her body continued to move forward. As a result, the evolution pokemon fell head-first onto the dust. After being unceremoniously tumbled in the gravel, her tiny rage was perfectly indescribable.

Knowing the recoil of Brave Bird, and the Toxic lowering its health, Eevee tried one last Tackle, hoping not to knock out the significantly weaker bird.

This time, the small bird was hit. Despite having such a strong move as Brave Bird, her stats were actually low. She got struck in the chest area and was literally blown backwards. She struggled for a while, and then gave in. She looked into the Eevee's eyes, and smiled. She realized now that this was not a survival battle. Pidgey's mother was abucted at birth so Pidgey had been living on her own paranoid from everything. In this battle she was terrified, thinking the trainer was here to destroy her, abduct her, maybe even feast on her. But the look on Eevee's face told her, she had a friend. Two friends, actually.

Seeing fear in the poor bird's eyes, Twilight felt sympathetic. She walked over and kept a restraining hand on Akina's collar fur. She smiled at the Tiny Bird pokemon, hoping to make it less terrified. Rummaging in her bag, she revealed a small red-and-white orb about one-and-a-half-inches big. Pressing the button in the middle, it grew to fit her whole palm, about 4 inches. However big the pokemon may be, it always shrinks to fit in a person's pocket. She held it out to the Pidgey. If she wanted to come along, fine with her. If she didn't, no harm done.

The Pidgey looked up, confused. She gave out a questioning cheep. She quivered, but slowly took little baby steps, closer to this strange girl. She took another step. She was about a meter away. Slowly but surely, Pidgey got closer, each time beginning to trust this odd girl more due to the fact that she hadn't pounced on her yet. She took another step. She was only about half a meter away. She stared at this strange spherical object. What was it? She gave another questioning cheep. She then took another slow step. She slowly got closer. Only about a quarter of a meter away away now. Was this girl waiting till the last minute to strike? Or was she genuinly being a friend? Pidgey stared into the girl's eyes, then Eevee's. they looked happy, and kind. Humans were known to be deceiving though. But perhaps these two were actually nice? The Pidgey pondered on what to do for a while, but her naivite got the better of her. She crept closer, and closer, until she reached the girl. She looked at the strange ball. She sniffed it. it smelled secure, but she never knew. She gave it a soft headbutt, but then let out a shrill and shocked chirp. A red ligt engulfed her. Was this a trap of the girl's? But once inside, she understood. This girl wanted Pidgey to be her pet. Once again her naivite got the the best of. The ball shook, and shook, and then clicked. Congratulations, you just caugh Pidgey!

Twilight looked at the small orb containing her new teammate with much joy. "Welcome to the team, Odette.". Akina leaped up to Twilight's shoulder and sat there, making small cooing noises in her ear. She too, seemed overjoyed by a new friend.

A bush rustled in the wind, but Akina still looked behind it suspiciously. A ___ suddenly leaped out, startling the little, brown fox.

It was a sweet little Caterpie, female Level 6. She saw Twilight and Akina and was startled to wriggle away as fast as she could' but it was o use as Twilight could easily catch up to the speed it was going at.

Twilight giggled at the cute bug trying to get away, but ending up squirming on the grass. She decided she would take her chances with this little fellow. "Go Odette! Since this is your first battle, don't worry about not doing your best, Okay?" She reassured the bird. It chirped then flapped her wings at the Worm Pokemon. She flew up until she was just a speck in the sky, then zoomed down with high speed, glowing red which slowly diminished to blue. Brave Bird.

(By the way, when you catch a pokemon, its health is restored right? That means Odette won't be poisoned and all?)

Caterpie continued to wriggle, trying to escape, but Pidgey was a lot faster than the little bug. After a few seconds, Pidgey hit Caterpie and she rolled over. Struggling to get back on her stomach, she was failing and was just staying there.

The Tiny Bird hovered over and settled on the ground, looking curiously at the wriggling worm on the dust. She hopped over clumsily and gave a leg a sharp peck, then flew back cautiously. "Okay, A Tackle should do it....It seems pretty weak now and I don't want it to faint.." Twilight said. Pidgey cooed and, flapping and whirring its small wings so fast that it became a blur, zoomed towards the helplessly struggling bug, in an attempt to slam against it.

The Tackle hit Caterpie, and it kind of helped her get on her "feet" again. Barely standing, Caterpie used String-Shot at Odette

Twilight groaned. With the string binding at Odette's feet and and wings, attack, was virtually impossible. It was now or never. Rummaging in her bag, she unhooked a special slip of cloth which overall made a pocket and slipped out a pokeball. She hid it behind her back, enlarging it then threw it hard at the green worm, so to add a little more damage. The element of surprise always worked.

Caterpie was confused by the pokeball, and it hit her head. The pokemon went in the empty ball, and it started flashing.. Flashing twice...A third time, and finally stopped. Which meant she was captured. Suddenly, Caterpie came out of it's pokeball and started to tackle it. It seems she didn't like staying inside.

(Does it mean I caught Caterpie? Stats please? And I name it...Felicity!)

"Waargh!" Twilight dodged just in time as the bug passed by. "Hey now! I'm taking none of this!" She retorted. She picked up the bug by its tail and put it firmly on her shoulder, while Akina rested on the other shoulder. "Hop on, Odette!" By showing a bit of love, a teaspoon of care and a pill of friendliness, she was sure to win over the unfriendly Caterpie. Odette flew up and perched on Twilight's head and chirruped. "Off to the Pokecentre then!" Twilight called as she raced off in the direction of the Centre.

It was a small Pikachu! the Pikachu was probaly looking for something to eat. The Pikachu didn't see the trainer and kept looking around, if the trainers pokemon would strike now, it would surely be a critical hit!
