The Journey begins [OPEN]

Raymond jumped out of bed. Today was the day he would go on his adventure. Raymond grabbed his pokeballs his backpack and his pokeegg from on top of his night stand and walked downstairs. As soon as he got down stairs he was greeted by his parents and his Bagon named Baku. Raymond said his goodbyes to his parents and began walking toward the exit of Viridian city with Baku inside of his pokeball.

As he neared the exit, someone approached the trainer. "Your name is Raymond, right," the stranger asked. Apparently he was a reporter. "I've been asked to do a report on how a pokemon trainer does against a wild pokemon. Would you mind if I did a report on a battle for you?"

Raymond looked over at the reporter. Usually Raymond would say no but He wanted to showcase Baku's power so Raymond said "Sure. Why not? Lead the way please." Raymond said preparing to follow the reporter.

"Well, I don't exactly know where to go to encounter a wild pokemon. Would you mind leading the way," the reporter asked, slightly confused as to why he had been asked to lead.

Raymond shrugged he at least expected that the reporter knew where one could encounter wild pokemon. But Raymond decided to walk toward the viridian forest. After he left the city grounds a wild pokemon appeared. Raymond didn't have a pokedex so he had no idea what pokemon it was.

Suddenly a wurmple appeared. It wasn't the best pokemon to battle, but it wasn't the worst. The reporter looked at Raymond. "It doesn't look like you have anything to scan the pokemon with. I can help you with that," he said, pulling out a pokedex. This was adding on to the ridiculousness. The reporter had a pokedex, but had no clue where to find pokemon. "I don't need this, so feel free," he said, giving it to Raymond.

Wurmple, Male, Lvl 9

Raymond took the pokedex. He really didn't understand why the reporter would have one. Though this was Raymond's first battle of his journey so he grabbed his pokeball. He threw it in the air and said "Baku stand". Out of the pokeball was a bagon. Raymond then said Bagon use dragon rage. A aray of purple flames surrounded bagon the started to move at Wurmple at a fast speed.

While Raymond's pokedex said "Wurmple, the Worm Pokémon. Wurmple live primarily off of sap from trees. The suction cups on its feet keep it from slipping."

The reporter looked at Raymond. "Starting with offence?" The reporter made note of this. He also recorded how the trainer had attacked the wurmple whilst the pokedex was analyzing it and giving it's entry. The wurmple got hit by the dragon rage, to which it had no response. The wurmple was sent flying, landing quite a few feet away. It got up, and was frustrated, though it had no idea where the attack had come from.

Raymond had realised that he was a bit anxious. Attacking when his opponent least expected it wasn't his style. But Raymond wanted to finish the battle quickly. Raymond looked at Baku and told him to use Dragon rage again. Again an aray of purple flames surrounded bagon the started to move at Wurmple at a fast speed.
Raymond hoped that Wurmple was going to dodge it this time.

The wurmple was incapable of dodging, not knowing where the attack had arrived from. The second it spotted the incoming attack, it was too late. THe attack landed, and the wurmple, once again, took flight into the air, landing a few more feet away. The wurmple stayed on the ground, pretending to be dead so that whatever was attacking it might leave. "Well, this doesn't seem like a good battle," the reporter said, putting up his notes.

Raymond was disappointed that the wurmple didn't put up much of a fight. Though Ray did know that he did attack it from behind which was cowardly. So Raymond went into his backpack pulled out a piece of pokefood and threw it by wurmple. It landed next to the sleeping wurmple. Then Ray continued to walk to find another pokemon.

The reporter looked at Raymond. He started to walk back towards the town, but he came back to the trainer. "Hey, could I possibly stick around a while? It might be cool to see all the different battles you will face," he said, hoping that the trainer would accept.

Raymond looked at the reporter and decided that it was fine with him. "Ok then" Raymond said.
Raymond began looking around more to see if he could find a pokemon that actually wanted to battle. Raymond then heard a rustling of leaves from behind him. Raymond turned around to see a pokemon in front of him looking like it wanted to battle. Raymond pulled out his pokedex to see what it was.

A lillipup was looking at Raymond, wondering what the trainer was doing aroudn it's territory. It seems as though it had made itself a little home somewhere, and it wasn't expecting a trainer.

Pokedex:
Lillipup, the Puppy Pokémon. The long hair covering Lillipup's face is an excellent radar, which senses conditions in the surrounding area.

Lillipup, Male, Lvl 11

Raymond looked at the lillipup. A pokemon that can sense surrounding conditions? hmm should make for a good opponent Ray thought. After making sure it was ready for a battle Raymond said "BAKU use Dragon Rage once more" and like with the Wurmple an Aray of purple flames began to move at Lillipup. Raymond was waiting to see the lillipup's response.

The lillipup didn't expect the attack, so it was hit by the dragon rage. Out of frustration, it decided it was going to attack back and teach the pokemon a lesson. It started rushing at Baku, as it was going to tackle the opposing pokemon.

Bagon was struck by the tackle and was sent flying until it hit a tree. Raymond was surprise at the display of power and he decided that it was time to attack. "Baku use Bite!!" Raymond said. Bagon got up and began running at the lillipup with its jaws open.

The lillipup, somewhat taking in that it had just attacked the pokemon, wasn't aware of the incoming pokemon. The pokemon was inflicted with the bite, and it retailiated furiously with another tackle, jumping back some and then rushing headfirst at Baku.

Baku was struck by the lillipup's tackle. And was teetering back. Raymond looked at Baku. Then He said "Baku Use Dragon Rage One more time." Once again purple flames went after the lillipup. Raymond wondered how many attacks from Baku could take.

The lillipup wasn't going to let the pokemon land another attack, so it immediately jumped away from the pokemon when it saw it preparing it's attack. Being a little farther away would give it an advantage at dodging, so it waited for the attack to be thrown at it, then it jumped out of the way. The lillipup then proceeded to tackling the opposing pokemon again, running as fast as it could toward Baku headfirst.

Baku was struck by the lillipup's attack again. Now Baku was on the brink of losing. Raymond didn't expect for the lillipup to dodge the Dragon Rage. So Ray decided that he needed to use a stronger move to take it out.

"Baku use Flamethrower"

"Bag, BAGON" Bagon said as flames spewed out of his mouth at the lillipup.

The lillipup was used to the pokemon it was fighting using Dragon Rage, and even Bite, so when it heard the word flamethrower, it screamed a little to itself. It tried its hardest to dodge the incoming attack, but it was of no use. The flames hit lillipup, though not enough to burn it. It took damage, and it took the pokemon a moment or two to recover. It attempted to start rushing at Baku again to use tackle, but it went down once it was half way there, signifying that the battle was at its close. Was the trainer to catch the pokemon, or would he|she deal the final blow?

Raymond was surprised that the pokemon could get up at all. Raymond was tempted to throw a pokeball at the pokemon to catch it but Bagon needed some experience. So Raymond made Bagon use Dragon Rage to finish the Lillipup.

The lillipup disappeared after the attack landed, and Baku gained 11 experience, leveling up to level 11, with 1 EXP left over.

The reporter took note of how the trainer defeated the lillipup, and had detailed notes on the battle itself. "Tell me something, why didn't you capture the lillipup? Was it to weak? Was it a pokemon you didn't like?" The reporter held his paper and pen awaiting a response.

Raymond returned his pokemon to its pokeball. Then He heard the reporters question. He answered "It wasn't that the pokemon was weak or that I didn't like it. It was because it was strong. Right now all I wanted was to defeat a strong pokemon now that I have I can go capture a new friend." After he said that he decided to go to the pokemon center to heal his Bagon.
