Gerrard uses his knowledge to turn the battle into his favor. He doesn't mind all that much having a type disadvantage. He simply matches his pokemon by their special skills, characteristics, physical abilities, size, moves, etcetera. Gerrard trains his pokemon strong points. It is rare to see the boy let his pokemon charge in head on, rather he teaches them special tricks to get around attacks and ways to perform their moves more effectively.

Gerrard is little taller than most his age, standing 142 centimeters tall. He has slim body build and thus weights a little less than normally people his height. The boy wears rather strange clothing. He has dark brown medium length hair, covering a small part of his right eye. Both of his eyes are white with some grey tones. The boy pretty much always has the face below his nose covered, not because it is ugly or anything like that, but rather because he is little shy. Gerrard is also addicted to scarves, he has over 50 of them at home and his grandma keeps on making more. Normally he would wear different one every day but he simply couldn't bring them all on his journey. Commonly the boy wears two scarves at the same time with white-black patterns. Covering his upper body he has a long black shirt with white lining. It has a rather high collar and even if Gerrard wouldn't wear scarves it would still cover at least his lower lip. The left sleeve is long enough to cover up his entire arm, while the right one is short not even reaching down to his elbow. He wears black fingerless gloves with a white crest on them. Covering his legs he has black trousers, which has four pockets, two on the sides and two on butt. Attached to it he has a black trainer belt which has all his pokeballs and a small bag attached to it. The bag contains pokedex and other small items which might quickly be needed. Like the shirt, trousers as well have white lining in the bottom. He wears socks, usually black, and shoes with rather thick soles so his feet wouldn't get hurt if he should step on a nail or really sharp and strong branch. The shoes are black with some white parts on it, and are really comfortable on feet. He travels with a large brown backpack where he holds all other things necessary for a journey: clothes, food, towels, and other stuff.

Personality:
Although seemingly not really sociable once Gerrard gets to know someone he can keep on japing for hours. He has a little weird sense of humor, often finding things funny which some people might not even notice. He has rather unique laugh, "Kufufu." The boy dislikes speaking with boring, stupid, or cocky people. Gerrard is really calm and rarely gets irritated, once mad he is really hard to calm down though. Ger loves all pokemon. He simply enjoys being in their company, even if they should be really evil and annoying. He is very selective with the pokemon he wants to capture though. Gerrard is really harsh, in some people point of view maybe even evil, trainer. He always pushes his pokemon to the very limit even to the point where they might hurt themselves badly. He aims to make them the strongest and thinks that the hardest training possible is the best way. Gerrard has a weird "ability involving pokemon. Sometimes it's almost as if he could feel their thoughts and hear them. For example he once heard a pidgey "talking" that it had gotten stuck. The boy managed to find the pokemon and released it.

Gerrard loves his grandmother and two best friends who he grew up with really much. He is the type of person who doesn't let go from people once befriended them and always keeps in contact. The boy is really addicted to scarves. Gerrard trains regularly alongside his pokemon. He is also extremely studious person. In Pallet Town whenever he didn't know something he rushed into the library to find his answers. He got addicted to learning at the age of 6 when he had to prove one his his two best friends that he could remember all pidgeys' moves. After that he just kept on studying, mostly learning about pokemon, but also reading literature and other books containing knowledge about various subjects. Although Gerrard might sometimes look like he doesn't expect much from life he has humongous plans. He doesn't simply want to win the pokemon league . . . no, he wants to become the very best trainer ever, even become top coordinator, and capture at least one of every single pokemon species. His dreams don't stop there though. He also wants to become the richest and some day even conquer the world. Gerrard only tells the first part of his dreams, often claiming that someday he is going to beat the Elite 4 and then the Champion.

History:
Gerrard origins from Pallet Town. He was raised by his grandma ever since he was a baby so the boy hasn't really met his parents or simply doesn't remember it. Ger has heard a lot of stories about them from his grandma though, they were supposed to be really important pokemon trainers. Gerrard had really pleasant and happy childhood. There were two children his ago who he got along with really well. The three were always alongside each other, playing, talking, running . . . They did pretty much everything together. At the age of 6, when they were playing with a wild pidgey, one of them got hurt though. It wasn't really anyone's fault but the child's father got rather mad and didn't let the play with others for a little while. Gerrard's other friend of course blamed him, and started saying that he knew nothing about pokemon. It made Gerrard rather mad and he ended up going to library and learn everything there was about pidgeys. Although originally planning to only learn about that one pokemon species he ended up getting addicted to studying. He kept on wanting to know more and more and whenever there was something he didn't know about he rushed to library.

Gerrard shut his other friend up with his awesome knowledge. After a week or so girl's father let her play with boys again though. Everyone were happy again and they started playing again. Over time the trio developed a humongous interest in pokemon though. They started watching pokemon battles from tv, playing with them even more, often visited Professor Oak to meet new pokemon, and read books about them. Some months after Gerrard's 8th birthday one of his friends announced that he was going to go on a pokemon journey once he would be 10 years old. That triggered something in Gerrard and his head suddenly became filled with dreams about becoming a pokemon master. Soon enough he also wanted to go on a pokemon journey. His grandmother imminently approved the idea, thinking that he would become like one of Gerrard's parents. Shortly after that the third one also said that he wanted to go on a journey. Once everyone had set their plans they started taking pokemon really seriously. The three started analyzing every battle, every tiniest detail. They simply enjoyed it so much that sometimes they spent entire night talking about pokemon. Gerrard was oldest of the group and thus he started his journey first. On his 10th birthday it was finally time for him to start his journey and fulfill his dreams . . .
