Sunday Battle

Another morning in Petalburg City . . . The day wasn't as nice as it had been yesterday but it was still enjoyable. Damon and his crew woke up pretty late because of their yesterday's training session. Although originally planning to challenge the gym leader today it wasn't possible since the gym was closed on Sundays. That didn't mean that they were just going to rest though. Damon had decided that he was going to challenge another trainer in Pokemon Center. Today Damon was wearing completely new black trousers, black shoes, and a white dress shirt. It felt good to be back in his usual attire thought Damon as he started walking around the center. He and his pokemon ended up in a lounge where several trainers were reading books, watching tv, talking, or just resting. He didn't really bother asking each and every one of them personally to have a battle with him, so he just asked with a really loud voice so everyone could hear him, "Is anyone up for a three on three pokemon battle?"

A trainer who was sitting nearby reading a book heard Damon's loud voice, and he muttered to himself for a second. Then he stood up, placed his book down, and began to approach the trainer. "Hello there, I hear you want a 3 on 3 pokemon battle. Unfortunate enough, I myself don't have three pokemon to battle with, but I can direct you to the trainer wearing the blue-ish jacket right over there." The trainer pointed to the trainer whom was sitting in a chair near the corner of the room, wearing a blue-ish colored jacket. The trainer seemed to be reading as well.

Damon gave it a moment of thought and nodded. "Sure. As long as I can practice versus another trainer it's all good," said the boy, accepting the person's offer. He didn't bother waited for the trainer to introduce him and simply walked up to the one wearing the blueish jacket. Damon introduced himself, "Hello. Your friend told me that you might be interested in a three on three pokemon battle," he reached out his hand, waiting for a handshake, "I am Damon by the way."

The boy looked at this new stranger, then looked at the other stranger. "You mean him over there? He's not actually my friend; he's just trying to give me a hard time. He can't stand that I had beat him at a 3 on 3 battle, so he wants some poor sap like you to come defeat me. Oh well, I won't turn down the challenge..." The trainer stood up and shook Damon's hand. "My name is Senetra. Call me Sena if you wish..."

Damon laughed a little as he released his hand. "Alright then, Sena. I'm glad that you accept my challenge." The boy then turns around, "Lets head outside. There should be few battle arenas specially made for pokemon battles in the back." Damon took some steps but then he stopped and turned around, "Actually, I think it would be better if you showed the way. I only know the way from rooms to reception," said the boy laughing, hoping that Senetra would know a place where to hold a pokemon battle.

Senetra looked at Damon. She was a little spooked from his enthusiasm to battle, a little happy to have a challenge, and a little confused. "Um, that's also why I'm here, partially. I haven't really battled many people, so I don't really know much about where to battle." Senetra looked away a little, apparently embarrased by the lack of knowledge on where to battle.

Damon laughed again and then once again loudly asked, "Could someone show us a place where we could have a pokemon battle at?" The boy was looking around, waiting for someone to answer. He was really excited to finally be able to test his pokemon against a real pokemon trainer. He had battled some kids in his own town with his Sableye but that wasn't real. This in the other hand was, he really hoped Senetra would turn out to be a challenge for him.

Senetra looked away again, slightly embarrased by Damon, but encouraged by his entusiasm. She looked at him, and waited to see if someone would answer. Of course, the person that was mad at her arrived. "Do you need to know where a good place to battle is? I'd recommend battling somewhere outside of town, as not to cause any destruction. Also, may I observe the battle? It would be useful to write down other trainers' techniques and attempt to use them myself." The person gave a small, devilish grin to Senetra. Apparently he wanted to see her downfall, elsewise he wouldn't be setting her up like this...

Damon scratched the back of his head, thinking. He then answered, "It's not like my pokemon are destructive or anything." The boy gave a quick look at Senetra and asked her, "You okay with battling outside the city and letting him watch?" Damon himself was a little too lazy to walk outside the city again but if that was the simplest way to get the battle started he was going to be okay with it. He then looked around to see if any other trainers would give them a little bit of help but it seemed like all of them were ignoring the three. Damon sighted, "I just want to get the battle going . . ."

Senetra looked at the stranger next to them. She really didn't want to let him watch her battle, but she decided against it. "Sure, he can watch. And I'm fine with battling outside, as long as the battle gets started!" She watches Damon curiously, waiting for his reaction.

Damon shrugged. "Alrighty," started the boy speaking as he turned towards the boy who had set up him and Senetra, "You lead the way then." He looked around one last time and then added, "By the way I didn't catch your name." Damon then made a little gesture, showing towards exit, hinting that it was time to start moving.

The stranger turned and started heading for the door, oblivous to Damon's request to know his name. Senetra whispered to Damon, "He's kinda rude, isn't he?" Senetra then grabbed Damon's hand and started walking toward the stranger, hoping Damon would follow if he wanted his battle.

"Sure is," whispered Damon back to Senetra after he had accepted the girl's hand. He was really excited to see what kind of pokemon she had, something rare perhaps. For now he just followed the girl, letting her lead him to the spot where they could finally have their pokemon battle.

The stranger stopped mid-along a path in a forest. He turned to Senetra. "Here is where you and your friend can battle. I'll just stand over there," he said, pointing to a small bench. He went and sat down, whilst Senetra let go of Damon's hand and walked further. Then she turned to Damon.

"So, lets battle shall we?" She prepared three pokeballs.

Damon calmly followed the two, keeping a vary of his surroundings so he would later know how to get back. Luckily the road wasn't really difficult. "Yes, lets," answered Damon Senetra as he removed one of the pokeballs from his belt. "As I am the challenger I will go first," he added. The boy pressed the button in middle of the ball, making it grow and then open it. A stream of red light guided Ralts out of the pokeball who seemed more than ready to fight. "I go with Ralts first, your turn," said the boy being ready for the battle.

Senetra stared at the Ralts. "Well, it seems like we'll be putting up a fight for you Damon," Senetra said, tossing the first pokeball into the air. "Come out to play Umbreon," Senetra said, and an umbreon was released from teh pokeball. "This should be fun..."

Damon knew very well that he had humongous disadvantage. As his Ralts did only know psychic attacks moves he couldn't deal any damage since Umbreon is immune to them, while in the other hand Umbreon would deal more damage to Ralts with dark type attacks. "Ralts, return," spoke Damon as he pointed his pokeball towards the pokemon. A red light sucked it in. The boy put it back on his belt and then chose another one. "Go, Seedot," spoke Damon calmly releasing the pokemon out of it's pokeball. Seedot seemed ready to put up a fight and already wanted to attack but for his surprise Damon didn't give any kind of command . . .

"Hehe, already throwing in the towel," Senetra said, watching Damon retrieve his ralts. As she saw him take out the other pokeball, she said "Oh, so you have another plan. Very well, do your best." She watched to see what Damon would do.

Damon sighted, "You see, my pokemon don't really have a lot attack moves . . ." The thing he said was pretty much true, Seedot had only one direct attack move which was Explosion. It was still way too soon to use that though, rather he decided to buff his pokemon up a little. "Seedot, use harden," commanded Damon. The pokemon imminently took a little different stance and started glowing slightly greenish. Seedot had used harden.

"Oh, I see, so that's your plan. Raise your stats then have a full out assault..." Senetra looked at her umbreon. "Umbreon, use tackle on the seedot," she said, pointing at Damon's seedot. The umbreon did exactly as told, and rushed in for a tackle.

Damon smirked and commanded, "Counter with Bide!" In a split second Seedot's whole body started brightly glowing white. The pokemon looked really strong willed as it simply stood there now, taking full blow of the attack. Although the small acorn pokemon got knocked back it quickly stood up like there was nothing wrong with it. "Alright, good job," complimented Damon his pokemon as he simply started waiting for his opponent's next move.

"Oh, I see, you wanna do some good damage? Well, umbreon, use Tail Whip!" The umbreon wagged at the Seedot, hoping to see it's defence lowered. "See, if you wanna do some good damage, then I'll wanna do the same thing." Senetra was plotting something. The stranger was taking notes on this strategy.

Damon simply stood there without giving any command to it's pokemon. Seedot was pretty much doing the same thing, it simply let it's defense get lowered a little, resulting it to be the same as it was before harden. It then started speaking though, "Seed, Seed, Seedot," with a little evil look in his eyes. He was trying to taunt the pokemon with his words.

((Well, I was adding up the total without doubling, then it could be doubled at the end, but both ways work, and it looks like next turn bide is used, right? XD))

The seedot, taunting the little umbreon, infuriated it. It was angry, and used tackle without a single word from Senetra. Senetra, slightly surprised by this, watched as the umbreon ran after the little seedot, slamming it in anger.

Damon smirked a little. After Umbreon had angrily attacked Seedot he understood what had happened. He noted that Seedot was going to fire bide in any moment now and thus decided to make the most of the moment. "Take it Seedot and imminently fire your bide!" Seedot seemed to know it without even a command though as he stood his ground, taking full blow of the tackle. Right after taking the attack whole Seedot's body glowed very brightly and in a split second it shot a huge white beam of energy right towards Umbreon. The pokemon then fell back a little. He was exhausted from the tackle damage but it wasn't nearly enough for him to throw the towel just yet.
