Nothing Gold Can Stay

Her hardest hue to hold.

Does my sassiness upset you?

Parchment

Life is but a blank canvas,
Parchment awaiting ink.
My quill is dipped and ready,
But I can't seem to think.

How can I progress in life,
When writer's block holds me down?
So instead I sit at home alone,
In this dusty little town.

I watch from my window silently,
As others write with ease.
Impatiently I tap my quill,
Life is such a tease.

Only when I truly look,
Do I really see...
My empty book has filled right up,
For what I am is me.
