Strengthening the team

Kazuya looked around at the beautiful scenery that surrounded Violet City. A surrounding that Kazuya knew held many wild pokemon. That's why he was here, to strengthen his team for the upcoming gym battle. Kazuya looked down at Flare, who gave a small nod of approval. When Kazuya looked up from Flare he saw a ____, Kazuya pulled out his Pokedex to analyze the ____ and see what Pokemon he should use.

A rattata was roaming around!

The pokedex read...It eats everything. Wherever food is available, it will settle down and produce offspring continuously.

Kazuya thought it over, and decided to send Flare into fight. Kazuya ordered Flare to slowly circle the Rattata, much like he had with Hoothoot. He would let Rattata make the first move.

The Rattata was level 4! It was female.

She decided to use tackle as her attack and charged at the Cyndaquil.

Kazuya decided to go with the strategy that had worked last battle. "Flare, use Flame Charge head on.After the attack continue circling Rattata." Kazuya commanded.

The Rattata was hit and burned as a result, it attacked back with Quick attack.

Flare was not fast enough to dodge the attack, and he too k some damage. Kazuya told Flare to encircling Rattata and use tackle from Rattata's side after Kazuya was sure that Flare had not taken damage.

Rattata was tackled and looked more weak, it used Tail whip to distract Flare.

The Rattata looked weaker so Kazuya had Flare use tackle head on, so as not to be distracted by tailwhip, to finish off Rattata.

The Rattata was hit and it fainted. Flare gained 4 EXP.

After the battle Kazuya looked around for more wild Pokemon for him to battle. At the base of the tree Kazuya saw a ____ and a ______ eating together. Kazuya pulled out his Pokedex to scan the two wild pokemon, and he prepared himself for a battle.

A Spinarak and a Ledyba were both eating together. They were both level 3.

Kazuya scanned the two pokemon. It was time to test out some new Pokemon. To even the odds Kazuya would send out two Pokemon. The first of which was naturally Flare, for the second one Kazuya threw his Pokeball and summoned Radar. "Flare circle the opponents like always, Radar do the same thing from the air and use Foresight." Kazuya told his pokemon.

When Foresight was used Ledyba's evasiveness was lowered as a result of foresight.

Amee stood there watching as he battled the random pokemon, she thought that this would be a perfect time to find some pokemon to train totodile on, and possibly make some new friends as well.

As the opponent seemed unwillingly to make the first move, Kazuya would have too. Kazuya disliked making the first move because his strategy was a defensive one. To counter this Kazuya started off by having only radar perform tackle on Ledyba, and retreat and circle after the attack.

she began looking through the grass for her own pokemon to battle, wanting to teach her pokemon proper battling manners.

The Tackle on Ledyba was a success, and it turned around, trying to follow Radar with its eyes.
Spinarak used String Shot on Radar, trying to bog down its wings. The Ledyba suddenly ran to a nearby tree and scurried up it, then out onto a limb close to Radar. After a moment of timing, it threw itself out of the tree, using Tackle on Radar.

Radar was hit by the tackle, taking a little damage. Its wings were now bogged down, making flight difficult. Because of this Radar backed away from the fighting to try and recover some. Meanwhile, Kazuya had Flare use Flame Charge at the Spinaraok to hopefully cause major damage.

The attack caused staggering damage to Spinarak. It almost fainted, but it somehow managed to stay up. It knew, however, that this was probably going to be its last attack, so it went all-out shouting "SPINARAAAAAAAK," as it charged Flare, using Poison Sting.
Meanwhile, the young Ledyba, who was still inexperienced with flying, spiraled to the ground. It landed hard with a WHUMPF and bounced, then flipped over in the air and landed on its back. It lay there, dazed for a moment, then used its wings against the ground to flip over onto its feet. The wind was still knocked out of it though, so it didn't attack Flare.
