Manaphy Athayelle Empty
PostSubject: Manaphy Athayelle   Manaphy Athayelle H6Q0F8zMon Mar 19, 2012 7:50 am

Trainer

Name: Manaphy Athayelle (She doesn't tell her last name to just anyone, so she just goes by Manaphy Athayelle)

Nickname: Goes by Athayelle, her middle name; "Atha" to close friends.

Age: 14 1/2

Gender: Feminine

Rank: New Trainer

Birthplace: Veridian City, Kanto

Battle Style: Flexible. On weaker Pokemon and trainers, Athayelle will go on the offensive. For Pokemon and trainers on the same level as her, Athayelle commands her Pokemon to stay on the defensive until she figures out the opposing side's strategy, and use any "chinks in the armor", as she calls it, to try to win. For Pokemon and trainers that are stronger than her, Athayelle goes all out on her attack moves, mostly relying on type advantage.

Looks: Athayelle has dark, brown, straight hair that she usually keeps in a ponytail to keep from blowing in her face. In fancy occasions, Athayelle keeps her hair down and curls the bottom. There's usually some dirt or a leaf in her hair from her treks through the forests of Kanto. Her face is slightly sunburned from spending time outside, and her dark brown eyes seem to stare into your soul. Athayelle has a unique face; her forehead is rounded, and comes to a point down to her chin, like a heart without the bump at the top.
Athayelle can usually be found wearing her favorite shirt, a white T-shirt that says in thick black text (and all capital letters): "YOU WERE IN MY DREAM. AND YOU. AND YOU. AND ALL THREE OF YOU WERE ON FIRE." Said shirt has a spaghetti stain on the right side of the abdomen. Athayelle is medium-sized with small-ish breasts and love handles that won't go away. Mentioning either of these things is a minor offense to her (see personality).
Below the torso are yoga pants. Athayelle doesn't have fat thighs or a huge butt or anything, she's just too lazy to button jeans every morning (and also the fabric is soft). Athayelle's legs are long and thick ((OOC: Imagine German legs; long and strong, capable of lifting things and walking long distances)). Her feet are wider than most, so she has to get bigger shoes than she should. However, she can really kick.

Personality: Athayelle tries to be kind to strangers, but she's hot-headed and provoking her will usually result in her annoying the offender until they cry uncle. "Annoying" comes in different shades; a snappy retort for light offenses, stupid puns and that repetitive "I'm not touching you" game for medium offenses, and pinches or light punchies for major offenses. As you can see, Athayelle is not a cruel person, though she is mischievous. Athayelle is majorly protective of her friends, and will sucker-punch anybody who threatens or hurts those close to her. Towards her friends, Athayelle is teasing, but kind. She loves to make jokes and puns, and can make the most annoying laugh ever. Towards those she doesn't like, she's polite. If she suddenly begins using "sir" or "miss" or "ma'am" a lot, you've said something wrong.

History: ~Pre-Birth~
Three months before Manaphy Athayelle was born, her mother, Anaise, went on a trip to the ocean. Anaise went on a trip to an aquarium. A lover of water types, Anaise loved to watch the Kingdra and Dewgong perform. A special event began where a Manaphy was brought in, and Anaise quickly stepped up to the stage to see the legendary Pokemon. Manaphy played around and splashed in the waves, causing the crowd to cheer. Anaise didn't care much for the tricks; she was honored to just see the legendary.
Suddenly, the Manaphy stopped playing and made eye contact with Anaise. This didn't seem normal, but the staff members tried to play it off before Manaphy made the move Heart Swap. This move is known for causing it to switch minds with its target, and Anaise was surprised when she was not transplanted into the Manaphy's body. Instead, another person blinked around curiously.
Anaise didn't understand at first what had happened until eye contact was made again. She innately recognized the soul looking curiously around, joyously breathing the water in and out. It was the same person that had been living inside her for six months, after all.
The caretakers freaked out and tried to catch the not-yet-Athayelle, and Athayelle took it as a game. She flipped around, avoiding the people at all costs. There was no trouble here; it was the most fun ever! Hardly a minute passed before the not-yet-Athayelle glowed red and Manaphy returned to its body. After some fervent questioning, Anaise reassured that everything was fine, and decided to name her child Manaphy.
~Five Years Old~
Manaphy pranced through Viridian Forest, obediently staying withing eyesight of her mother. She had not decided to become Athayelle yet, instead staying Manaphy as her mom wished. Having seen her world originally through the eyes of a Pokemon, she had sort of an attachment to the magical creatures. During her games of Conquer the Kingdom and Awesome Mermaid, she would go out of the way to place a fallen Metapod back on its perch if it falled, or allowing a Pikachu in the game.
This time, however, something different was going to happen. In the crook of a tree was a Pokemon Egg. It was right out in the open, too; most Pokemon hid their eggs, lest predators get them. Looking around for any parents, Manaphy touched the egg. She knew that the parents would not get offended by her scent; it was all over the forest, and nothing bad had happened to the egg. Unfortunately, there was no sign of activity near the egg, and the shell itself was cold. Manaphy swallowed nervously; this wasn't right. What had happened to the parents?
A Pikachu stepped up next to Manaphy, and looked sadly at the egg; the Electric Mouse Pokemon's eyes spoke legions. The parents would not be coming back. Nodding in determination, Manaphy cradled the egg in her arms and raced towards her mother, speaking the sad story. Anaise wasn't sure if she believed it at first, but what choice did she have, when her Pokemon-loving girl wanted to help?
Anaise and Manaphy took the egg back to Veridian City, and Manaphy did all she could to nurse it back to health. The egg eventually warmed, so Manaphy took the egg to the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy said the heartbeat and everything was normal, and even that it would hatch soon. Shaking with excitement rather than fear, Manaphy took the egg everywhere she went, allowing it to be the precious treasure in her games, and even took it to sleep with her that night.
Manaphy woke up that morning to a nudging in her side, and a crack in her arms. At first, she thought she had broken it, and sat up, bringing the egg with her. Fortunately, the egg was unharmed, other than oharceusit'shatching. Manaphy watched the crack on the top at the egg spread until it was about halfway down, and then the Pokemon burst out of the egg.
A Caterpie's first sight was Manaphy Athayelle, and it immediately imprinted on the little girl. Afraid of the cold, dark world, the tiny bug type crawled into Manaphy's arms and nestled, and Manaphy knew that this Caterpie would be her friend forever. "I'll name you Nico."
((OOC: I bet you thought that egg would be a Pikachu. NOOOPE! Nico Testa. Also, for explanation of the next paragraph, I figure that non-battling Pokemon level through years, like aging people; one year = one level, et cetera.))
~General~
As Athayelle grew, Nico grew with her. She didn't let him leave her side for the first two years she had him, and then gave him a bit more freedom. She didn't neccesarily become a Trainer, per say, but Nico was her friend, thick or thin. On Nico's seventh birthday, he evolved into Metapod. Now lacking a method of locomotion, Athayelle carries Nico in her bag or in her arms.
