Chapter 1: Finally Getting a Move On

Chester Shinoda, the boy who always asked Bruce to get what he wants. Today, it will change for Chester will do something on his own strength, of course it will be along with his Pokemon.

"Nice work, Mudkip!" he praised after their usual training.

Okay, that ain't no training topic of some sorts.

"Let's re-"

Mudkip points out a wild Pokemon/Trainer!

Two small children ran up to Chester and his Mudkip. "Ooh! You're a pokemon trainer! Would you like to battle?" They said.

Twins Amy and May would like to battle!

Mudkip smiles at the two in delight. "Do you know that it's a default yes to me?" Mudkip steps in front of Chester waiting for the battle to begin. He is still a bit tired from the training, but he has to be stronger in endurance and stamina. "Hey, you're twins... Double battle, I guess"

Makuhita is sent out! "Big fat chubb and Mud Fish Pokemon, do your best. Now show us your buddies, kiddies."

"We may be small but that doesn't mean you go easy on us!" They said as they tossed a pokeball simultaneously. A Dustox and a Beautifly appeared, hovering level.

That trainer sprite does not look like Chester. :P

"I hate Bugs... No offense. Concentrate on one enemy. Mudkip, Ice Beam and Makuhita, Tackle on Beautifly. Go first, Makuhita."

Makuhita tackles the opponent. Makuhita used Tackle!

A light blue ball forms in front of Mudkip's mouth. It then fires light blue beams at the opponent from the ball that freezes anything they touch. Mudkip used Ice Beam!

(There wasn't a matching sprite ;~; Also from now on, I'll use these sprites in all battles so get used to them.)

Beautifly got hit head on by the Ice beam and fainted. Dustox blocked the Tackle with a Confusion and topped it off with Gust, knowing these moves would be super-effective against the Fighting type.

Okay. Hey, you're making it too easy... or is Ice super-effective against a Bug?

Makuhita's mind was distorted by the Psychic attack and then is blown away by the Flying attack. He is sent tumbling backwards. Laying flat on his stomach, he faints.

It's your fault! Eh, joking. :P

"Great... Mudkip, this has turned into a single battle. Ice Beam!"

(It's also part Flying. Go figure.)

Dustox dodged it as it sent another wave of Confusion at Mudkip.

One of Mudkip's special abilities as his specie, is the capability to detect danger with his fins. He shook his head around and thought of other things blocking the Confusion. "Smart! Same move."

Dustox dodged it again, if by a hair. It tried to use Confusion again.

"It's hard to hit a foe who can freely fly." Mudkip's mind is damaged by the Confusion. "Mud-slap! I hope some gets in its eyes..."

Mudkip turns around so its back legs are facing the opponent and it kicks mud from the ground at the opponent. Mudkip used Mud-slap!

(Mud Slap is a ground move. Dustox is a part Flying Type. I think he has immunity, right?)

Dustox flew way up, avoiding the Mud-Slap and dive-bombed Mudkip, using Confusion.

I know that... As I said, I'm doing it on purpose. Chester is less experienced that most trainers. It's for realism and storyline.

"YEAH!" he shouted in delight as he saw the opponent finally bring itself closer to his Pokemon. Mudkip grinned and quickly jumped to the side and attacked on his own.

Oh wait! You were fighting Dustox! I got the two topics mixed up... -.-

Dustox was hit and fainted.

Mudkip gained 30 exp! (Dustox: 15 Beautifly: 15)
Mudkip grew to level 14 with 5 exp remaining!

"Down and out. Now kids, don't be affected. Just keep training your Bugs. Nice work, Kip."

Chester drops by to the Pokemon Center to heal the two. "Hm... Let's cheer Makuhita up." he said, walking towards the grass patch with his Mudkip. A wild Pokemon/trainer challenges them!

It was a Snover!


Level 14

"Lucky day. But after this, Makuhita has to fight another battle because I'm capturing this one. Fighting on Ice, is very effective." Makuhita is sent out.

"Okay, Makuhita. Let's cheer you up. Vital Throw!"

Makuhita slams into the opponent, and as the opponent's falling, it grabs it and throws it into the ground. Makuhita used Vital Throw!

Snover nearly fainted with the force of it. It staggered up and used Razor Leaf, sending harp sickles of leaves at Makuhita.

Makuhita can't figure out how to dodge the attack. There are strength in numbers, the razor leaves were many. Chester throws a Pokeball!

The Pokeball shook weakly before clicking.

Congratulations! You caught a Snover!

"Hell yeah. Nice work, Makuhita. Well, one more fight for you. I hope the next one won't be something I'll like so you'll get some EXP or level up." Chester said, picking the Pokeball up. Wild Pokemon/trainer challenges from behind!

"Crap. Fighting types are not very effective against Poison. You need some leveling, but by the looks of that Grimer, it looks tougher than you. You'll fight later. Let's check Snover out.

Snover is sent out and is somewhat healed to full health upon capture.

In case you don't know, that's how stuff goes in this site. :D

The current powerhouse of the team, the newly captured Snover steps up the stronger foe. "Snover, Powder Snow! Powder Snow inflicts damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the target. I hope my luck does not turn around. I hope Grimer gets frozen solid."

Snover puts its hands in front of its body and a light blue light forms in front of them. A wind with sparkling blue powder is then released from the glow at the opponent, freezing it. Snover used Powder Snow!
