Finally on my way!

Ruby had the biggest grin on her face, she couldn't believe it, she was finally on her way to becoming a great co-ordinator! 'BOLT SLOW DOWN!' ruby yelled at her shinx as it raced ahead of her. Bolt skidded to a stop and turned to see Ruby panting as she caught up. 'Please bolt, i'm excited too but i don't quite have your stamina...' Just then a bush rustled, 'Huh? Whats that?'...

A small green bud popped out of the grass. "Budew?" a tiny voice squeaked, a small yellow face hidden in the grass. It was a Budew, the baby form of Roselia!

"A Pokemon at last!" Helen exclaimed, "And a Budew, perfect.." Helen thought of the best way to go about this, she hadn't collected anything to entice it over, her only option was to try and battle it if she wanted to capture it. Helen had studied pokemon for years she new her type weaknesses and strengths. "Bolt quickly use Fire Fang!" Helen Commanded *inx inx* and with that Bolt leapt to aid Helen in her goal and ran over and bit hard into budew...

Budew panicked, seeing the flaming fangs of the shinx coming straight toward it. It quickly began spouting water, dousing itself in it with its water sport attack, to lessen the damage it would receive from the attack. Fire fang connected, still doing quite a bit of damage to the poor grass type. It staggered about a bit, then looked up worriedly at what would happen next.

"Don't worry budew this'll all be over soon, POKEBALL GO!" Ruby through the pokeball at budew. It was a perfect throw, she did practice throwing rocks at targets when she was younger. "Perfect," Ruby whispered, "now to find out if it worked." The pokeball connected with budew and Ruby waited paitently to see if the capture was successful...

The pokeball tapped Budew, opening up in a flash of light. The beam caught the small Pokemon, absorbing it into the sphere. The ball clicked shut, falling back to the ground where it began to rock back and forth vigorously. The ball lit up and made small pinging noises with every shake. Once...twice...three times and...*CLICK* The capture was successful! Budew is now part of your team. Would you like to give a nickname to Budew?

"YEESSS!!" Ruby could barely contain her excitement, "My first pokemon capture, i shall name you Rosie." Ruby knew she must heal Rosie before she would be ready to battle again but Ruby had no idea where the closest pokemon centre was. "There must be a pokemon centre around here somewhere..." Ruby ran around the city fantically till she saw what looked like a huge building with a pokeball on top. 'This must be it...' Ruby thought to herself and she stepped through the sliding doors. Ruby glanced around and spotted nurse joy at the end of the room working behind the counter, dashing up Ruby placed her budew's and shinx's pokeballs on the counter and asked the nurse joy to heal them. The nurse was friendly and was done in minutes. "Huh? Are they all healed already?" Ruby couldn't believe how efficient this place was. Walking out of the pokemon center with her fully healed pokemon ruby decided to continue to head to Hearthrome city.

A woman behind the counter with pink hair pulled up sat with a warm smile on her face. "Welcome to the Pokemon Center, would you like us to heal your Pokemon today?" she asked in her peppy voice. A Chansey stood next to her, seeming just as happy as the nurse.

"Yes thankyou, um here they are..." Ruby reached for the pokeballs on her belt and handed them to the lady with pink hair. "Just the two of them." said Ruby beaming, her white teeth showing and looking a little dorky. This place sure was large and Ruby wondered if they were all like this...

*ring ring* Huh? What was that? Ruby wondered. *ring ring* Ruby left the counter to find the source of the noise was a phone. Ruby answered it and to her surprise found it was her Auntie who was calling in hopes of contacting her. "Hi Auntie May, how's everything going at the ranch?" "Oh everything is going splendidly and we have a surprise for you." "Huh? A surprise? What is it!?!" Ruby was getting very excited now, her Aunt's surprises were always the best. "We found a strange egg and we've decided it would be a good time to let you have it. I'll send it to the nurse in the pokemon centre now and she'll give it to you." "THANKS AUNTIE MAY, BYE!!" and before her aunt could even say goodbye Ruby hung up and dashed back to the front desk to collect her pokemon and her new egg.

Cynder came into veiw of the pokemon center, her red eyes gleaming. "Come on, Shinx. Let's make you strong again." She said, rubbing her right arm as she walked up to the doors, Shinx following.

Ruby turned around to see a girl with a shinx of her own walk in..."Here are your pokemon." the lady with pink hair said as the chansey passed over the pokeballs and Ruby's new egg. "Thankyou." Ruby said as she turned back to face the nurse. Ruby placed the egg into her bag then picked up the pokeballs and imediately released Bolt. "How you feeling buddy?" *inx inx* the smaller than average Shinx replied. "Awe, glad to hear you're feeling good." Ruby told Bolt as she hugged him. As Ruby rose up she noticed the other girl was now standing beside her at the counter.

Cynder sighed in fatigue and looked down at the other girl. "Hello." She said, as Shinx growled. "Now now, that's no way to treat strangers." She said, putting him back in her pokeball with hard eyes. She placed her 2 pokeballs on the counter and stretched.

"Hi, your Shinx doesn't seem to like strangers too much does he? Mine's the same, but he's gotten a lot better since i first hatched him....Oh right the egg." Ruby opened up her bag to give the egg another look over, "Dragon type, wow, i wasn't expecting that." Ruby looked back up to the other girl, "So where are you heading?"

Cynder blinked. "No.. he's overprotective. It'll be harder once he evolves." She sighed, dreading but also looking forewards to that day. She looked back at the other girl. "Around. I have nowhere to be and nowhere to go, so. Around. What about you?"

"I'm thinking of heading to hearthome, it's the place to be if i want to become a top coordinator, but it's so far away..." Ruby replied as her thoughts drifted off. Dragging herself back down to earth she suddenly blurted out "Hey would you like to come with me?"

Cynder though for a second, taking her pokeballs back. "...Sure. Why not?" She shurgged, releasing Shinx.

"Great. Well i think i'm all stocked up with everything i need...Is there anything you have to do before we head off?"

Cynder shook her head. "I'm good." She said, walking out of the pokecenter.

Ruby followed Cynder outside, "Sooooo, i'm not exactly sure where i go next...." ruby confessed.

Cynder looked around. "It's alright, I dunno either...I've just been kinda walking."

Scarlet scratched the back of her head. "Um....well i think i came from that way." Scarlet pointed westward, "Or was it that way?" now pointing North, "Hang on, i'll check my compass...Yep that way is where i'm from." Scarlet smiled anxiously, "and i think hearthome is to the east, so lets head that way."

Cynder nodded. "Alrighty then. Eastward."

The two girls with their Shinxs by their sides headed off in the east towards a deep and mysterious cave.
