A Little RP Discussion.

Well, a small discussion. What do you use when you refer to pokemon, he/she or it? Or do you prefer something else like it's nickname or name instead?

I refer to it by its gender- if I'm using a male I say he, if I'm using a female I say she, if I'm using a genderless I say it.

Same as Quib with the gender stuff but I also use;
1. Its pokemon type ie. the small dragon pokemon
2. Its nickname (if it has one) or otherwise ie. Flare (nickname) or just Flareon (if that's its name.)
3. Its species ie. the flareon (No capital as it's not its name)

I find a mix of these leads to a smoother RP experience :)

Oh, I thought we were just talking about a general sense. I do those things, too; one of the biggest differences, though, is that I always capitalize the first letter of any Pokemon's name; the species as a whole is a proper noun, you know.

E.g. I would say "The Flareon jumped out," instead of "The flareon jumped out," even if it's just some random Flareon.

When you think about it, its kinda stupid how people refer to their Pokemon as its species name. I mean, do we refer to each other as human, or refer to our pets as "cat" or "dog"

One other thing. What do you do with the annoying red line under the word pokemon each time you type it? It's a common word you use just around in all RP topics.

XD the word "Pokémon" is in my laptop's dictionary...problem solved!
