Checking Out the Talent

'Eevee Iron Tail now!'

Max watched as Eevee completed a near perfect Iron Tail attack on a large boulder. The boulder cracked in two and Eevee landed flawlessly happy about its effort. Max smiled and petted the small pokemon. What Eevee lacked in size she made up for in moxy and an amazing power that only came out because of the trust her and Max had when they battled.

Max's eyes searched around for another trainer, hoping that someone saw his Eevee's strength, but not another person in sight. Max hadn't battled in a while and was itching for one. He had had other things on his mind recently like his old Growlithe but sometimes he forgot all of his problems and just wanted a battle with someone. But Mahogany Town wasn't exactly known for its trainer base despite having a Gym, so Max wasn't hopeful.

'Alright Eevee, ready to try out Shadow Ball?' Max asked. Eevee didn't look so keen. It was a hard move to perfect especially it being a Ghost type move. Eevee had a stubbornness about her that if she didn't want to do something she usually wouldn't do it no matter what. But she also wanted to impress Max and she nodded her head in a determined way.

'Alright Eevee, Shadow Ba-' Max was cut short by a noise behind him that made him jump. He and Eevee turned around to see what it was.

Would like a trainer to post for a battle

just then a voice said "hello my names morty. morty montage i would like a battle." the voice said waiting for a reply...

Max was relieved it wasn't another sandshrew looking for trouble. He smiled and nodded his head to the young man.

'Hey there' Max said calmly. 'I'm Max pleased to meet you'

Eevee had rushed over to Max's side to see what was happening. When she realized it was a battle she adopted a fighting stance letting out a happy cry to show it was pleased to finally have a battle after all this time.

'A battle huh?' Max grinned. 'Sure lets make it a one on one with no time limit, you OK with that?'

"oh course i am go bulbasaur!!!" morty yeld. a bulbasaur jumped out and landed in a battle stance.'ready for some of this? hmm? ok bulbasaur usevine whip!" morty yeld...

Max was taken off guard by this speedy attack form the grass pokemon. The powerful vine whip landed directly into Eevee's torso making her let out a squeal in pain. Max realized he had to act fast if he wanted to take the advantage in this match.

'Eevee Sand Attack!' Max said, and Eevee followed orders perfectly as it summoned a dust cloud from the ground causing bulbasaur to be blinded for a short while.

"bulbasaur we almost got her use leech seed!" morty yeld

Max new getting seeded could be trouble and he couldn't risk the attack hitting Eevee. Luckily the sand attack had caused Bulbusaur to aim in the wrong direction and leech seed missed. Max breathed a sigh of relief and decided on his next attack.

'Eevee use Iron Tail!' Max yelled. Eevee's tail begain glowing brightly as i charged for Bulbasaur with the powerful attcak

"bulbasaur dodge it quickly!!!!" the bulbasaur barely dogded the move morty new this was bad."ok lets try this again use vine whip!!!" the bulbasaur did as he was told. the battle was almost over with...

This attack hit and Max was worried this could be Eevee's last chance to win the match. He knew that the only move that would definitely knock Bulbasaur out was the one that Eevee wasn't so confident with. But Max needed to take the risk of he wanted to win.

'Eevee Shadow Ball now!' Max shouted at Eevee. Max smiled as Eevee began to start the attack. She fired the shadowy blob at Bulbasaur. Max could only pray that it hit.

(in slow motion)
"n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o" the attack hit the bulbasaur. the damage slowly went down...green-yellow-red-tip of red-goner. the attack hit knock the bulbasaur out.
(regular speed)
"gosh darn it! oh well good job now its time for my next pokemon. he is a floatzel and he is level 72.....................................................................................just kidding. you won the battle far and square." morty said

Max rushed over and hugged Eevee. She had finally perfected shadow ball and not a moment to late. She had won her first proper battle in nearly a month. Eevee climbed onto Max's shoulder.

'Haha thanks' Max chuckled as he reached out to shake his opponents hand. 'You're a really great trainer and it would be great to battle you again sometime.'

"i have a better idea. lets travle together. come on lets go."morty said...

'Well I'm heading over to Azalea Town to take on Bugsy and no offense to you Mort but I prefer to travel alone.' Max said. He liked Morty and he usually would travel with someone like him but right now he only wanted to do two things. Get all the Johto Badges and find his Growlithe.

'I'm sorry Morty, I'll see you around man.' Max said waving goodbye to his new friend. He was sure their paths would one day cross again. Max started off down Route 42 to start his adventure.

"oh ok then see you around." morty said while he walked away...
