One Gym Down, Seven To Go!

Oliver entered the city taking in each of the fascinating buildings resting upon the decision to find the gym and get it over and done with. He then overheard a conversation from a group of trainers realizing where the gym was and that luckily it was a Museum. Once Oliver reached the Museum he asked for where the gym leader was following the receptionist's directions ending up in a large room with a lady standing in it. Boldly he called out "Hey I'd like to have a gym battle" smiling and standing in the challengers spot calling out "Go Gengar!" using his special knowledge to his advantage and awaiting her answer.

Lenora stepped out from behind a book case, and glanced at the Gengar with a slightly annoyed look on her face. "Why is it I always get challengers when I'm trying to organize?" she seemed to mutter to herself, then she let out a sigh.

"Welcome challenger, I am Lenora, the expert on normal type Pokemon," she looked at Gengar once more, "although you probably already knew that." She threw a Pokeball into the air, and out burst a Herdier. "Because of your obvious advantage, I shall take the first move. Herdier use bite!"

Herdier rushed at Gengar with her teeth ready. She jumped up, and attempted to bite the foe!

Oliver smiled "Then so be it" he replied watching Herdier diving in before calling out "Ok Gengar Use Hypnosis then dodge it!" Gengar done so firing off the Hypnosis towards Herdier whilst it was in mid-air and unable to escape before rolling aside thereby dodging the attack. Oliver then followed it up by calling to Gengar again "Now Gengar Dark Pulse!" Gengar moving forward and placing his palms together a black and purple ball of energy forming before thrusting it forwards the beam of swirling dark energy heading towards Herdier.

With the sudden sleep combined with the powerful Dark Pulse, Herdier didn't stand a chance! When the ominous looking pulse of energy hit her sleeping self, she flew back, and fainted upon landing. "Good job buddy," Lenora said to her loyal Pokemon before returning her. She took out one other Pokeball, and with a burst of light, out burst a Wachog.

"Wachog, use Crunch!" Lenora commanded, although not in her usual calm, collected way. The command seemed almost desperate. Her Pokemon complied, and more expertly than the Herider, rushed at Gengar in an atempt to bite the foe.

Oliver said "Well one change has been performed so I think so should I, Return Gengar" he then smiled and returned Gengar to his pokeball leaving Watchog to continue charging before holding out another pokeball throwing it up and calling out "Go Electivire!" Electivire emerging in a beam of white light standing on the field. Oliver then called out "Now Electivire Use Quick Attack!" Electivire dashing forwards a white trail of light being left behind him as he moved towards Watchog advancing with speed.

Lenora watched in horror as the weak, but almost impossible to dodge attack struck her last and strongest Pokemon, causing it to faint in one hit. She hesitantly returned him, muttering a small thanks to the Pokeball.

"You made a mockery of Cilan and his brothers, and it seems you did the same to me. Good job young trainer. You deserve this." With that statement, she handed Oliver the Basic Badge, a Retaliate TM, and :pd: 2060. She then gestured toward the door, obiously wanting to get back to her organizing.

Oliver nodded "sure did now return Electivire" he said, Electivire disappearing into his pokeball in a flash of red light. Oliver graciously accepted his reward turning and leaving the gym moving on to the path for Castelia City and the site of his next gym battle and badge.
