Personality: Is generally feisty and energetic, but not to the level as say Luffy. He enjoys being outdoors, and puts his heart and soul into catching, and raising, every pokemon there is. He likes being a leader, although he isn't very good at it, but his pokemon obey him enough to give the impression. He always wears a smile, even when he loses or when times get tough, and he perks up the spirits of those around him.
History: Chez came from a generally poor family. They where constantly roaming, and he was able to see far away lands and pokemon while on his long trek. Chez turned of age to get a Pokemon of his own at age 10, but was unable to due to his family's financial crisis. This seemed to dramatically change his outlook on life and his mood, and eventually he decided to run away from his family's small wooden carriage-it was easy since he only really owned a backpack, sleeping back, extra change of clothing, and....something glistened in his packback, something he hadn't noticed before. it had a note on it, addressed to him, signed by Professor Oak, who had met them and felt sympathetic about Chez' inability to obtain a pokemon. He turned on the dim light of his family oil-lit candle, and read it to himself at night:

My Dearest Boy,
Do not give up on your dreams.
Push through the wall in front of you, leap off the cliff of adventure-and land in the calm waters of triumph. In this small package, there is a little token of my gratitude for showing me your kind-hearted spirit

He unbound the odd object from it's casing, and found a pokedex and a Pokeball. Daring not to wake up his parents, he fled into the woods and into Pallet Town, where he not only thanked Prof. Oak himself, but where he discovered that the Pokeball did have a Pokemon inside-a Squirtle. It had had some training before being given to him, but he didn't care. He still lies in his make-shift bed in Prof. Oak's laboratory, ready to begin his adventure!
