A New Leaf

Lyle quickly woke up and smiled at Psy at the foot of his bed. She was sound asleep and smiled sweetly in her sleep. Lyle got up slowly and grabbed a tissue to blow his nose. He smiled at Psy and gently petted her. "Wake up Psy." He said softly and calmly. "Today is the day." Psy gave Lyle a slightly angry look due to being woken up but was excited as well. She yawned and stretched and hopped off of Lyle's bed. Lyle crept his way into the bathroom to get ready. Psy did the opposite and ran into the kitchen to grab a quick bite before the big journey. Lyle brushed his teeth and took a quick shower and got dressed. After Psy finished her meal, she waited for Lyle at the door. Lyle's mother spotted Lyle before he left and frowned. "Must you go now?" She said with a frown. Lyle sighed and stared at her. "I'll miss you...but I have to go. In order to become a pokemon breeder, I must venture out and capture more pokemon to take care off." Lyle's mom slowly nodded. "Okay.." she said softly and gestured to give Lyle a big hug. Lyle accepted the hug and hugged his mom back. Psy jumped into the mix and purred. Lyle grabbed his book bag and a few snacks for the journey for himself and Psy. Lyle opened the door and waved to his mom goodbye. His mom smiled and locked the door behind him. "Okay Psy." Lyle said with confidence. "Let's go!" Psy smiled and followed Lyle as he ran quickly towards root 29. As Lyle walked through the tall grass next to a lake, a Staryu appeared and stared at Lyle. Lyle smiled with excitement. Lyle always saw Staryus on TV but never in real life. The Staryu looked like it was ready for a challenge. Lyle stared at Psy and Psy nodded. Their first battle was just about to begin!
