| The EXP system. I know, everyone is going to hate me for bringing it up, but I'm just gonna grind ahead and post this topic. It needs to be officially decided. This Poll goes on for a week. If, at the end of this week there are more votes for 'Yes' this will be implemented, and Modmins will have to start using it. Also, another field will be added under each of the Pokemon on your trainer sheet/app thing, marked EXP. My proposition (package deal): FOR BATTLES: - Spoiler:
A Pokemon needs EXP equal to its own level to level-up. Your Pokemon gains EXP equal to the level of the defeated Pokemon upon its (the enemy's) defeat. If you used multiple Pokemon the EXP will be divided as evenly as possible, but will always be an integer.
FOR TRAINING TOPICS: - Spoiler:
Remember the St. Patrick's day event? And how it had those Pokemon which leveled up by special means? Well those special means are applied to the Pokemon of anyone who doesn't battle. Those special means are*: - Darkrai wrote:
- The happiness levels work in 2 different ways:
Coordinator method: By performing and achieving good in contests. 3 exp per move done.
Wanderer/Lurker Method: For you team dream people or aura trainers who lurk around, 1 exp for ten words.
Both Pokémon level up at 30 exp. This raises by 5 every 5 levels. L if you would make this more clearer to me, pls go ahead lolz** *: I have made some very minor edits to things that wouldn't apply. **: I believe this last part means that at level 1 it takes 30 EXP to level-up, starting at level 5 it takes 35, starting at level 10 it takes 40, starting at 15 it takes 45, etc.

| I know some people might just hate you for this, but i agree none the less
This is gonna need lot of work, add exp to each profile that has ever been done.... Or we could make a global announcement telling them to add exp:0. The RP topic starters will be requested to link their profiles in the thread, or in their sigs. The moderator in that opic can then add the exp according to the method. This is IF the method is agreed for. |

| I'm thinking that when EXP is gained, the Modmin goes to the person's app, which could easily be done*. If there are no EXP counters there already, the Modmin adds them (at zero) and then adds the aforementioned EXP.
*I think someone even made an announcement awhile back, saying that everyone should link to all of their characters in their sigs. Let me go find it... |

| I still don't like 'EXP per post' because that still gives more exp just to those who post many short barely meaningful posts, rather than have a 'training session' |

| it counts only for RP posts, with atleast 10 words, the threads can give 10 exp instead then. |

| Thread starter isn't really fair either. Some people start threads like mad going between places, whereas others have very long RPs in one single thread. Maybe instead, every ten words in a training session you could give them an exp or something. It avoids them actually leveling for no apparent reason, and also avoids them racing to see how many topics they can start. |

| right. but that method is fo pokemon users who dont battle, so why wud they train and start a training topic..... |

GuestGuest | Subject: Re: This has gone on unresolved long enough!! Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:21 pm | |
| Because, they don't battle, but they would still TRAIN. I'm not talking about training through battling. I'm talking about training by practicing moves, building endurance, etc. The topic thing I'm saying is because then they would always want to be the topic starter, and would most likely travel back and forth between areas just to start new topics to gain more exp. They could just label their post at the top like... [Pikachu's training session] or something, then have their trainer ordering them, and the Pokemon performing and training, then give out like 1 exp every 10 words or something. You wouldn't have to do it every single post, so it wouldn't be that hard, it would only be for training session posts. |

| Alekion has a very important point. Nobody seems to have a problem with what she says. Action has been taken, the top post has been edited. |

| Q: if you make it 1exp/ten words in a training topic, then people who battle could also train, and vice averse so they could gain exp either way. Since odds are, everyone will wind up battling on occasion, and regular trainers may just want to have a couple training sessions. |

| Just noticed: The coordinator method under non-battles seems a bit too generous at 10 EXP per move used, so I've changed it. |

| HOLY FUDGENUGGETS!
Quibbloboy, we already voted on a system so therefor this topic and poll are void. |

| This one seems to be more popular than his other one though, Near. Maybe this one should be implemented instead. |

| Yeah, I didn't know about any officially decided system either. I couldn't find the topic, and I seem to remember that it had ended in argument and confusion anyway. Besides, this has 5/5 positive votes. |

| Well, I guess its official. Actually, I guess it has been all day but there was a bit of confusion... ANYWAYS. Modmins, from now on you will add EXP to a Pokemon's EXP counter on its trainer's profile sheet thing. If it is an older app, you will add this: - Code:
-
[b]Exp:[/b] underneath that Pokemon's Personality. |

| The Other system had more votes regardless. It had 8. This topic is once again void. We, the Staff, ARE supposed to enforce these things. |

| Near, a couple of those votes were shadow voting on different accounts though... Either way... 100% vs 70% is still a win... |

| Only 5 people voted. Frankly that could just be staff members and stuff. Quibbloboy. Your ideas go in the Staff Area first, then you get opinions and bring them to the members. I never even got to vote. 5 people got to choose. |
